In  the IMAT project Future Carbon GMBH (Germany) is responsible for the development of the innovative nano-coatings, which is carried out in close collaboration with with Dr. Helmut Meyer and THM nano company, Sefar AG (Switzerland) and the UNIFI.

 

FutureCarbon is the leading supplier of customized super-composites based on carbon nanomaterials for further processing by industry. FutureCarbon has specialized in the development and manufacture of carbon nanomaterials and their refinement to create what are called carbon super-composites, primary products for further processing by industry. Carbon super-composites are combinations of materials that unfold the special characteristics of carbon nanomaterials in the macroscopic world of real applications. All materials are manufactured on an industrial scale.

 

Furture Carbon aims to provide solutions for customers who use our products to create new, high-performance materials with specific mechanical, electrical or thermal characteristics. Key applications for commercial products are in the areas automotive engineering, battery design, power engineering, building services, functional coatings, aerospace, mechanical engineering, and environmental technology.

 

 

FutureCarbon has an exceptional command of the manufacture and application-specific functionalization of carbon nanomaterials, the placement of carbon nanomaterials in very different matrix systems, especially in combinations of carbon materials with other materials and delivers standard products for general applications, custom products for special requirements, plus a variety of services supporting its products. Common to all Future Carbon products is how their function is matched to the specific requirements of the application, and the implementation of carbon nanomaterials in a straightforward and reliable form for further industrial processing. Carbon super-composites are combinations of materials that unfold the special characteristics of carbon nanomaterials in the macroscopic world of real applications.

 

Future carbon materials are manufactured on an industrial scale. The aim is to provide solutions matching the requirements of customers who use FutureCarbons products to create new, high-performance materials with specific mechanical, electrical or thermal characteristics. In the last years, Future Carbon has developed and introduced Carbo e-Therm® and CarboImpreg® which are highly innovative coating materials based on carbon nanotubes. Due to their high electrical conductivity both materials can be used in heatable coatings using low voltages. Since these products are based on tiny nanoparticles which are homogeneously dispersed within the whole coating material, a very evenly heat dissipation throughout the coated surface can be achieved. In its current form both materials have already a reasonable elasticity and good resistivity against water and alkali. At FutureCarbon there has also been performed first research work with regard to the development of a transparent heatable coating. Results obtained so far are highly promising so that there is a high chance of success for developing a transparent heatable coating within this project. Key applications for the products are in the following areas: automotive engineering, battery design, power engineering, building services, aerospace, mechanical engineering, military technology, environmental technology.
